The tour starts and ends at Tower Bridge Quay E1W 1LD, (ignore any maps that say the pier is closed) which is located a 5 minute walk from the Tower of London, on the other side of Tower Bridge. Our pier is near the Tower Hotel. Please arrive 15 minutes before your given tour time.

The Tower of London River Tour takes approximately 45 minutes.

Our tours run every hour from 9:45 or 10:45 depending on the day. Please see our timetable for full details. 

Our tour is suitable for all ages.

Yes, the tour has live commentary delivered by our trained guides which was written by the co-creator of BBC’s Ghosts, Martha Howe-Douglas, and curated by Historic Royal Palaces.

Yes, we have an onboard bar serving a range of snacks, soft and alcoholic drinks. You can add a glass of Ridgeview English sparkling wine at the checkout, for adults 18 and over.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets on board, with the exception of assistance dogs.

Yes. Our staff are happy to assist visually impaired guests with boarding and seating where required. Please let a team member know when you arrive or contact us in advance if you need additional support.

Boarding and Comfort

Yes. There is shelter available on our private pier, located just past the entry gate at Tower Bridge Quay, down at the boarding area. This covered space provides protection from rain and sun while you wait to board. Access to the pier is restricted to ticket holders only.

Yes. The vessel provides covered seating areas so guests can stay comfortable during colder or rainy weather. We still recommend dressing appropriately for the weather, as some guests may wish to sit outside to enjoy the views.

Yes. Seating is available onboard the vessel, including covered areas and indoor seating. Some guests may also choose to stand in designated viewing areas to enjoy the views during the tour.

Visitor Practicalities

Small bags and backpacks are welcome onboard. Due to limited space, large suitcases cannot be accommodated.

Yes, pushchairs and buggies are welcome. Depending on available space, they can either be stored on the pier before boarding or brought onboard and kept with you during the tour. Our staff will be happy to advise on the best option when you arrive.

Yes. Wheelchairs and prams can be stored on the sheltered pier area before boarding if preferred. Alternatively, they may be brought onboard and kept with you during the tour depending on available space. Our team will be happy to help you decide on the best option when you arrive.

Booking and Operations

Get all the answers you need about booking your tour, making payments, and handling ticket changes or cancellations.​

If you miss your scheduled tour, please speak to a member of staff at the pier. Our team will do their best to move you onto the next available departure, subject to availability.

Our tours operate in both rain and shine. The vessel includes covered seating and indoor areas so the tour can still run in rain or cooler weather. In the unlikely event that weather conditions make it unsafe to sail, our team will contact affected guests and offer alternative options where possible.

Yes, you can change the date and time of your ticket online up to 72 hours before your scheduled tour date and time for an alternative within 30 days of your scheduled tour date. You can only change to a comparable date (for example, if you have an off-peak ticket, you can only change to another off-peak tour). Simply head to the My Booking page and provide the email address used to book the tickets, enter the verification code sent to your email and then choose your new date and time.

Our tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

If you require the assistance of an Essential Companion or Carer, we will provide a complimentary ticket when you purchase your own ticket, either online or at our ticket office. If you require assistance from more than one person, please contact us before you purchase your ticket. We may ask for proof of eligibility for the Essential Companion or Carer concession on the day of your visit.
